"Zhang Fei se tint debout sur le pont, sa lance à l’horizontale, et rugit : « Je suis Zhang Yide ! Qui ose venir combattre à mort ? »
L’armée de Cao Cao, le voyant ainsi, trembla de peur et n’osa approcher. Zhang Fei poussa alors trois cris, aussi tonitruants que le tonnerre, faisant résonner la vallée. Saisis de terreur, les soldats de Cao Cao prirent la fuite."
Aujourd’hui, l’art du Lianpu continue d’inspirer non seulement l’opéra de Pékin, mais aussi la peinture, le design et la culture populaire chinoise. On retrouve ses motifs sur des masques souvenirs, des vêtements et même dans le cinéma et l’animation.
Les masques de l’opéra de Pékin ne sont donc pas de simples décorations : ils portent une histoire, une tradition et une profonde signification culturelle.
Zhang Fei (张飞), l'un des généraux les plus célèbres du Roman des Trois Royaumes (三国演义) de Luo Guanzhong, est souvent décrit comme un guerrier féroce et loyal. Ceci est un passage célèbre de l’œuvre, où Zhang Fei défend le pont de Changban contre l'armée de Cao Cao.
Zhang Fei (张飞), one of the most famous generals in Romance of the Three Kingdoms (三国演义) by Luo Guanzhong, is often described as a fierce and loyal warrior. This is a famous passage from the novel, where Zhang Fei defends the Changban Bridge against Cao Cao's army.

Zhang Fei stood on the bridge, his spear held horizontally, and roared, "I am Zhang Yide! Who dares to fight to the death?"
Cao Cao's army, seeing him, trembled with fear and dared not approach. Zhang Fei then let out three cries, as thunderous as a storm, echoing through the valley. Overcome with terror, Cao Cao's soldiers fled in panic.
Today, the art of Lianpu continues to inspire not only Peking opera but also painting, design, and Chinese popular culture. Its patterns can be found on souvenir masks, clothing, and even in film and animation.
The masks of Peking opera are therefore not mere decorations; they carry history, tradition, and deep cultural significance.
